Completely agree with mfunk - I would also support the suppressing of post counters next to people's profiles.

Now if there was only a button to indicate my simple agreement with this message.mfunk9786 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 17, 2018 2:26 pmNot sure if I ever shared this opinion but I've never liked the idea of having a "like" button here. So much good discussion comes out of people having to come out and say what they're thinking about this or that, and if they can just tap a button and move on, I think it'll stifle some of the substantive discussion that occurs here.

Man, I didn't realize how obsessed you all were with a.) like buttons and b.) having your avatars on the left hand side as opposed to the right. How about like buttons for some, mini American flags for others?
At any rate, today was a bit slower unsurprisingly $1400, but I wasn't expecting anything like that until maybe the beginning of August so I just want to say thank you to everyone so far. I'm still looking at some other incentives and hope to add more later.
I've also contacted everybody I could about any incentives. If you made a donation and you haven't heard from me and were looking to it may be because I couldn't track down an account. If this is the case feel free to contact me and indicate the e-mail address used to submit through PayPal.

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
We're only $1000 from hitting the goal. Again, I am very surprised by the level of support and am very thankful to everyone.
I'll update the incentives but for $60+ a user can pick an avatar for me to use for a week. Must be in "good taste," though. This will also be retroactively applied to users who have already donated that and I will contact them at some point today.

That's all good : I usually love stupid stuff ! (to be exact, in this case, I liked the innuendo giving it another layer of joke)

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
I meant to follow up on this: we did this before, suppress the post count, and it came back with the update. Is this something we'd all like to continue?

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Yes - I think having post counters are a psychological encouragement to new users to just post more to increase their number, rather than because they have something of substance to add to the conversation.

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Slowly but surely, we're now just over $900 from our goal!
I must apologize those I didn't get to yesterday: after getting the kids to bed I ended up falling asleep on the couch shortly afterwards, so I didn't get to everybody. I'll be fixing that today.

Ha. Scarlet Empress, which I've seen before. Didn't make it past the credits.

Sent in my donation. No perks necessary; knowing this site will continue is enough for me.

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Sorry for no update yesterday. I'll give an update later on where we are but wanted to catch up quickly.
If you haven't heard from me yet I will be getting to you today so sorry for any delay. The ads should also be removed by the end of today for those that reached that incentive.
Also, I just had a second person ask me this and didn't consider it before but if you don't want to go through PayPal and want to use a digital asset (like Bitcoin) instead, yes, I will consider that. Just contact me in PM and we can go over that.

I'm happy to help like everyone else. Just sent in my donation. Great work, Chris!
