Christian Petzold has begun shooting Undine.
Named after the water nymph that seduces men in a number of mythological tales, the German director’s new movie will portray Undine (Paula Beer) as a history graduate who works as a guide in Berlin in the present day. After her partner (Jacob Matschenz) leaves her for another woman, she is cursed and compelled to kill the man who betrayed her and return to the waters she was once summoned from. Yet unlike the mythological character, in the film, Undine tries to defy her fate. Immediately after the break-up, she meets Christoph (Franz Rogowski), an industrial diver, and falls in love with him. The two have a wonderful time together until he realises that she is running away from something and starts to feel betrayed.

Petzold's synopsises always sounds a bit bland and end up being fascinating so I'll wait to see how this turns out

I would actually be excited to see a new Adrian Lyne erotic thriller (the '90s really are back, again), but
Deadline wrote:Affleck and de Armas are in talks to play Vic and Melinda Van Allen, an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead.
Ben Affleck will be 47 next week. Ana de Armas is 31.

If you average the age it's 39, which is young-ish (right??)

I assume you’re irritated at the vapid descriptor and not at the actor’s ages for the genre; Olivier Martinez and Diane Lane were both 37 and Richard was 53 when Unfaithful came out, and that was pretty steamy!

What the hell? Apparently, Kim Ki-duk's next is an animated feature called 'Izzy Got the Frizzies'. Plot outline: "Whether you have naturally frizzy hair or hair that misbehaves no matter how hard you try to tame it with straighteners, this simple hack will work wonders for you."

Pretty sure it's a bizarre joke that's gotten past the IMDb moderators. "Izzy's Got the Frizzies" is a song from a Phineas and Ferb episode ("Izzy" being the ""Isabella Garcia Shapiro" that appears among the cast of characters) and most of the images can be traced to DeviantArt accounts.

It gets weirder: the Korean-language “poster” listed on IMDb advertises the title “African Hair” and says nothing about Kim. Presumably “J.O.C.” stands for whichever prankster cobbled this together?

Which was already adapted in radically altered form by Michel Deville as Eaux profondes
