I wouldn't be that harsh with them though. The Miike set is quite thrilling, and I will definitely pick up Raising Cain and Alfredo Garcia. But as a whole, yeah, that's like only 30% of the current previsional slate.domino harvey wrote:not a promising start to the year

Yeah, my wallet's quite happy too. Between a release which actually just is a delayed one, a standard release and a BFI US port, it will be quite a light one.

Re: Arrow Films
Plan on getting To Live and Die in L.A., Donnie Darko (not sure which edition yet), Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia LE and Raising Cain LE over the next few months, and maybe The Hired Hand too. I'd like to see a review of Pulse before I get that one.
As others have said, the Woody Allen announcement wasn't much of a surprise, nor was a standard edition of My Darling Clementine, so bit of a dry month this time. We even knew We Are the Flesh was on the way and I seem to remember someone saying something about Tower of London, which leaves Willie Dynamite (which could be fun, but I'll wait for a sale).
Still, easy on the wallet for a bit after those above titles. I will get the Allen films (probably all of them from the third set) but still not sure if I want to throw down cash for the box sets or just pick them up curiously one-by-one. I've only seen a handful of his films so far and confident I'll like most of them, but £40-50 in one go...not so much.
By the way, what's going on with Dekalog? It's not showing up on the Arrow store...it can't have gone OOP already?! I was eyeing it up, with The Human Condition just ahead of it in terms of priority (since that one is 50% sold, according to Arrow).

Still no mention of Dekalog for whatever reason.

Re: Arrow Films
How are these figures determined? The most extreme discrepancy from the October update is that The Hills Have Eyes went from sold out to "50% sold out". Extra stock seems to have become available on most releases.

Is the only indication of this that no UK-only releases are included?

Re: Arrow Films
It's the US newsletter, the UK newsletter did not have a stock update, Hellraiser is included.

Re: Arrow Films
OK. I see no explicit mention of this, but there are several hints (like how the new releases link to the Diabolik website). I guess I subscribe to both newsletters.

Announcements coming Friday and then Monday for Academy.
Two hints:
Arrow Video
Arrow Academy
Arrow says the Academy releases will have some "VERY" exciting news.

The puzzle, of course, could only represent a release of the One Piece anime series

Re: Arrow Films
Here's a hint that I don't think anybody here posted - Fran Simeoni tweeted last month that Arrow had two forthcoming releases with Willem Dafoe in them. One of which is presumably To Live and Die in LA, any ideas what the other could be?

Wasn't he in Bigelow's first movie? Seems like the kind of thing Arrow would be into

Body of Evidence?
Seriously now, I would hope for 4k remasters of
Born on the 4th of July
Platoon
But I don't think these are something that Arrow would release.

Re: Arrow Films
The UK DVD release of Cronenberg's eXistenZ appears to be OOP. Rights dependent, I'm sure Arrow would jump at that

Re: Arrow Films
I was thinking it could be that - or maybe Affliction - but I'd like to think we'll see an Arrow edition of Shadow of the Vampire one day.JabbaTheSlut wrote:Let it be Schrader's Light Sleeper, please!
And I don't mind who releases it, but a restored version of Wenders' Faraway, So Close! would be excellent too.

Re: Arrow Films
I'd love for the blue key to the puzzle to be the 4K Mulholland Drive, but that seems pretty decisively controlled by StudioCanal.

Possibly Duccio Tessari's giallo Puzzle.
Sadly, it's been mentioned in the Studio Canal thread that they plan on releasing Lynch's film.
