Warner has shelved Coyote Vs. Acme, which was already completed
Looks like they may decide to sell it to another studio after all, which would be good to all involved as test screening reactions suggests it's a decent film.

How do they get a tax write off if they sell the film?

Maybe they haven't finalized the paperwork for it? Seems they would change it to a write-down like the article mentions Paramount did for Monster Trucks back in 2016.

They could sell it at a loss and write off the remainder.

It sounds like they were already taking a write-down, not a write-off (even though a lot of sources conflated the two). They could always offset it with a write-up on a future filing.

John Mulaney will not be joining Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Penelope Cruz, and Peter Sarsgaard in Maggie Gyllenhaal's upcoming Bride of Frankenstein update for Netflix.

I'd rather see a "Pen15" style biopic with Ronstadt playing herself at all ages and lip-syncing her own songs. Bless Gomez, who does appear to have some talent, but to quote Joni Mitchell when told Taylor Swift might play her in a biopic: “I don’t know what her music sounds like, but I do know this – that if she’s going to sing and play me, good luck.”

Todd Solondz’ Love Child starring Elizabeth Olsen and Charles Melton
SynopsisShow
Deadline wrote:The story follows Misty who is stuck in a loveless marriage to a brutish husband. Junior, her precocious 11-year-old is her only consolation. When Easy, a handsome vagabond stranger, appears, Junior hatches a plan to get rid of his father so that his mother can marry him instead. But things end up backfiring, so Junior comes up with yet another plan, this one even more devious, and with more disastrous—and unexpected—consequences.

Sounds awesome. I’m ready for Olsen to return to more Martha… type films that utilize her talents for more than filling out a superhero costume
