I know Chuck has a really loyal fanbase and all, but I just don’t understand the appeal

Really glad Treme is being renewed, I'm digging the 2nd season almost more than the first.

CBS Cancels "S***! My Dad Says," "The Defenders" and "Mad Love".
NBC Unveils 2011-2012 Primetime Schedule. Preview Clips of NBC's New Season Programming.
For a guy that made his bones programming adult smart for Showtime ("Dexter," "Tudors," "Weeds," etc.) Robert Greenblatt's first schedule as NBC chief sure looks brain-dead, formulaic and with too much (55%) reality programming. At least "Chuck" has been banished to 8PM Fridays where it won't do much damage (except to the show that follows it, "Grimm.")

Re: TV of 2011
Nice to see Blue Bloods graduating to a "lock to return" from on the bubble. it really improved over the course of the season, with a very strong finale.
I don't know what to think about the Prime Suspect retool with Maria Bello. Dame Mirren has some awfully big shoes to try and fill for those of us who loved the original - though I suppose in America we are few. Nothing against Ms. Bello, but i don't think i'd have picked her for that role.

Highlights: Spielberg's "Terra Nova" will air Mondays at 8PM ("House" moves to 9), JJ Abrams' "Alcatraz" replaces "Terra Nova" midseason (flipping time slots with "House"), "The X-Factor" will have the same times/days as "American Idol" and "Fringe" remains on Fridays at 9PM.
The network also cancelled "America's Most Wanted" after 23 years on the air (downgraded to four specials per year).

They did this before in '95 for similar reasons I believe, and it came back rather quickly.dad1153 wrote:The network also cancelled "America's Most Wanted" after 23 years on the air (downgraded to four specials per year).

Re: TV of 2011
that was due to viewer outrage though...somehow I don't think that will be happening this time. the internets have changed that landscape quite a bit....flyonthewall2983 wrote:They did this before in '95 for similar reasons I believe, and it came back rather quickly.dad1153 wrote:The network also cancelled "America's Most Wanted" after 23 years on the air (downgraded to four specials per year).

Re: TV of 2011
Trailers/clips of Fox's new shows. The New Girl actually looks promising...the rest is a trainwreck of crap. Even Terra Nova looks like typical Fox cheese.
The New Girl: Starring Zooey Deschanel
I Hate My Teenage Daugher: Starring Jaime Pressley
The Finder: Starring Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan
Terra Nova: Starring Jason O'Mara and Stephen Lang
Alcatraz: Starring Sarah Jones (Sons of Anarchy) Jorge Garcia (Lost), Sam Neill, Produced by JJ Abrams
Napoleon Dynamite (Animated)
Allen Gregrory (Animated)

CBS Unveils 2011-2012 Primetime Schedule. Highlights: JJ Abrams' "Person of Interest" gets the 9PM Thursday time slot ("CSI" moves to Wednesdays at 10), "The Good Wife" moves to Sundays at 9 after "Amazing Race" and "Rules of Engagement" moves to Saturdays at 8PM because either (a) CBS wants to appeal to viewers with scripted fare or (b) kill the show. I say 'B.'

NBC's Awake. Looks interesting, hopefully it'll survive it's mid-season start.

Re: TV of 2011
This past week's South Park: potential series finale? sign of new direction? just a comment on their current creative situation and their viewers' insatiable demands? Certainly the best episode they've produced in a while...

Re: TV of 2011
They're contracted until 2013 so they have to pump out at least one more season, but they have over the past year expressed their boredom with the series and this is probably caused by that.

The promo for a new sitcom called Work It, where beefy men dress as women because there's no jobs for men out there. It is even worse than that description makes it sound

That joke, right? I honestly swore that sort of sit'com' went out of style a decade or so ago.

Re: TV of 2011
I'm that someone is blogging about behind-the-scenes stuff about this. Someone inferred that the creator works for SNL and is a writer on 30 Rock, which leads me to believe NBC is out to destroy the competition.domino harvey wrote:The promo for a new sitcom called Work It, where beefy men dress as women because there's no jobs for men out there. I've loved this "How the States Got Their Shapes" thing on the History Channel this spring.
