Glad to hear. I was waiting for a post-Christmas price drop on these which never came. Imagine my surprise when I checked Amazon.fr only to find La Belle Équipe out of stock and third parties selling it for 130 euros.

Try FNAC for La Belle Equipe dual edition.

So these releases don't come with a book or anything? It's just:

Blu-ray + DVD + Digipak > Blu-ray + Amaray

?

Exactly.

Only a few of the bigger projects (Les enfants du paradis, Les misérables, La reine Margot, Tess) come with a book, but they were digibooks. All the digipacks (Le monocle noir, La belle équipe, etc) are just DF digipacks which are now sometimes getting BD-only Amaray repackings.

Apart from the fact that I'm human and first editions/digipaks for some reason feel better, an Amaray is far more practical and isn't coming damaged.

That's perfectly sensible, but for whatever reason I too prefer the digipak and so was happy to discover it decently priced at FNAC, though I had to read the small print about other options to find it.

Amazon.fr has a "2 Blu-ray achetés = le 3e offert" promo at the moment which lasts until February 27th. Lots of Pathe releases included, so ordered Duvivier's La fin du jour Combo along with Tartarin de Tarascon and Paradis perdu.

I didn't see it confirmed elsewhere in this thread, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the La Fin du jour and Marie-Octobre BDs are region ABC.

Weird.
I ordered La Belle equipe dual format in late October.
Had given up on it, but never actually canceled it.
Today I got an "it shipped" email from amazon.fr.
The web site still only shows it for 110 euros from a third party.

Has anyone got Germinal which is from a 4k Restoration (hope it's not by Ritrovata/Eclair)
How is it?
I haven't seen the film but it seems like something that would interest me.

edit:

The blue-ish aspect only was an issue to me during the darker scenes. Otherwise, it felt quite balanced.

Can anyone confirm that the Blu-ray only editions of La Belle Equipe and La Fin du jour have English subs? Amazon lists them for the former but not the latter, and FNAC doesn't mention subs at all.

Yep. I have them and both have English subs for the features, but not the extras.

Cool, thanks -- shelling out for the OOP combo editions would not have been pleasant.

Was it Voici le temps des assassins that didn't have the subs?

Shit, that was the one Duvivier I wanted the most. Seems so arbitrary to not include subs with this film.

Or it's been licensed to a vendor in an English-speaking market.

Got the Blu-ray of the new 4K restored version of Jean de Florette/Manon of the Spring. Have not watched them yet. On the box it says English subs are included.
