Does anyone know if Third Window plans to release more Miki Satoshi films in the near future, or re-release some of the older DVD-only editions on Blu-ray?

I was so delighted by "Adrift in Tokyo" that I tried to find everything by this director, subtitled in the languages I can understand (English or Russian), and ended up binge-watching both his feature films and his doramas. Almost all of them were absolutely delightful, featuring nearly the same troupe of actors and the director's wonderfully off-beat humor.

My favorites so far are:

Adrift in Tokyo 転々
In the Pool イン・ザ・プール
Instant Swamp インスタント沼
and the three seasons of his TV mystery/comedy dorama Time Limit Investigator 時効警察.

I am still waiting for a DVD of a highly regarded Turtles Are Surprisingly Fast Swimmers (released (and now OOP) by Third Window) to cross the ocean.

I would love to have a chance to see some of his more recent offerings.

A subbed version of Adrift in Tokyo would definitely be a nice thing to have...

I've heard next to nothing about anything after Instant Swamp.

Michael Kerpan, I highly recommend the "Time Limit Investigator" series, which can be found both online on Dorama streaming sites and on English-subbed DVDs (I got a Malaysian-made DVD on Ebay).

My (limited) experience of Malaysian-made DVDs is not really too positive (pretty low quality -- luckily it got superseded my a US BluRay a year or so later).

I guess I got lucky! At least this particular DVD set ("Time Limit Investigator" Season 3) has adequate English subtitles and good quality video.

Here's Third Window's trailer for The Guard From Underground.

And they have tweeted recently that they will be releasing the "giallo-style" film Door from 1988 at some future point (perhaps significantly both these trailers have an "Out Side" company logo on them, suggesting they are coming through the same channel), which is directed by notable Pink Film and Roman Porno director Banmei Takahashi and which looks really interesting from that trailer. Maybe Third Window could look into adding in the straight to video sequel Door II: Tokyo Diary as well, as that one features Ren Osugi in the cast, as well as stars Chikako Aoyama the same year she appeared in the Hong Kong film Robotrix!

(Or even 1996's Door III which is directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa!)

They replied “Possibly…” when asked about releasing the sequels, so fingers crossed. Especially for the Kurosawa.

It's great news that Third Window have picked it up for the UK. They're going to look into Moving again as well, so hopefully something comes from that.

A good looking subbed BRD of Moving (instead of a rather dodgy looking unsubbed DVD) would be so great....

Apparently, they tried a while ago but had some difficulty with the rightsholders but it's going to be restored this year so they're going to try again.

Very exciting news. I am hoping that Third Window may be drip-feeding the information out there to keep the anticipation up, so we can focus on Door II now for a while. That trailer makes it look pretty wild!

Sadly…
due to many unfortunate circumstances [Door III] will not be part of the upcoming DOOR release from Third Window Films.
Here’s hoping this changes in the future.
